The Penryn Partnership
Kennall Vale School has strong links with Penryn College, both educationally and in sports. Through the Penryn Partnership, our staff collaborate with those from other feeder schools for training in areas such as PE and safeguarding, allowing us to share expertise and develop best practices.
The Partnership also supports our school with specialist PE teaching, offering a wide range of sports leagues, inter-school matches, and events. This significantly increases the opportunities available to our pupils, which we greatly value.
In addition to these activities, our children benefit from access to Penryn College’s excellent sports facilities. In previous years, pupils have participated in dance productions hosted by the College. College staff also visit our school to teach specific sports skills, enhancing the quality of our PE provision.
For Year 6 pupils, a well-structured transition programme ensures a smooth move to secondary school. Parents are invited to visit Penryn College multiple times during the final year to explore the facilities and learn about the next stage of education. The Head of Year 7 visits our school regularly to support this transition.
Primary Headteachers within the Partnership meet the Headteacher and Heads of Departments from Penryn College at least once a term, ensuring ongoing collaboration and a comprehensive transition package for Year 6 pupils.
